This is not just an old building. It is part of our shared story.

For many of us, some of our earliest childhood memories are connected to this place. We came here with our parents for a cold, a fever, a first vaccine, an injection or penicillin. Our mothers and fathers waited outside the door, worried and hoping their child would get better.

Generations of people from Mokrievo and the wider Podgorie area have passed through this medical facility: children, parents and grandparents. Illnesses were treated here, pain was relieved, first aid was given and, in many moments, everything possible was done to protect someone’s health and sometimes even a life.

That is why the condition we see today should not be viewed simply as the problem of an old building.

It is painful to see a place that served so many people for so many years being left to deteriorate. It is even harder to accept that our mothers, fathers, children and everyone living in our home region today may have to receive care in the conditions shown in the photographs.

They deserve better. So do we.

Whether we live today in Mokrievo, Strumica, Skopje, Switzerland, Germany, Italy or elsewhere, this remains our home region. And sooner or later we return — to our parents, our relatives, our children and our friends.

So this is not only an issue for the people who live there today. It concerns all of us.

For decades we have seen how insufficient care, repeated delays and divisions can allow things that belong to the whole community to deteriorate. This project should not become another reason for division. It should be the opposite.

Health should not be a party issue. Dignified conditions for medical care should not divide us. For the future of our home region, there should be one common side: the side of the people.

Residents, the diaspora, associations, companies, institutions, the Municipality, political parties and everyone acting in good faith should all stand together behind the same project, especially when it is for the good of all of us.

We do not have to agree on everything. But we can agree on at least one thing: the medical facility in Mokrievo should once again be a clean, dignified and safe place where a person can seek medical help.

Let us not allow the decline of our surroundings to become something we simply get used to. Let this project be a beginning.

Let us start with something basic and human: health. Let us improve the conditions of the Podgorie medical facility. Then let us show that the same energy can be carried into other institutions and other needs in our region.

It is not enough to say that we love our home region. Love for where we come from is best shown through action.

Everyone can help in a different way: with a donation, materials, work, professional knowledge, a useful contact, sharing the project, or simply encouraging one more person to take part.

No contribution is too small when all of us contribute.

We have waited too long for someone else to do it. Now is the moment to show what we can do for our own region.

Not tomorrow. Not when someone else starts. Not when the conditions become even worse. Now.

This project can become proof that when people stop dividing themselves and come together around something that benefits everyone, they can genuinely change things.

Let us build one project that all of us can stand behind with pride. For our parents. For our children. For those who live there today. For those who will return tomorrow. And in honour of all the generations who passed through this medical facility before us.

The time is now. And the success of this initiative depends on each of us.
